Project Description
This CodeSmith template produces an XML Application Definition file for use with SharePoint Business Data Catalog.

Features:
  • Creates a mapping to a SQL Server database using inline SQL queries for access
  • The Business Data Catalog accepts a total of 200 tables per application
    • The template creates a maximum of 200 XMl entities

Wish List:
  • Use stored procedures rather than inline SQL
  • Web services connectivity

Usage Steps:
  1. Choose Source Server/Database
  2. Choose list of tables: optional. If not supplied, the first 200 tables are used.
  3. Specify a destination folder
  4. Specify a destination filename
  5. Run BusinessDataCatalog.csp to produce the XML file
